From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of characters, and a gripping narrative featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers increasing in influence within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and introduced the initial group of heroes who will separate from the main group to embark on their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Given a large ensemble, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented narrative style where non-violent answers are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might look out of place, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
First, the team understands precisely where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing started the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and escaped to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each character has a individual motive to leave the city the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- But, their reputation as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the party reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him everywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The healer betrayed the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them no alternative but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.
Future Episodes
According to episode three’s post-show segment, we discover that the combat party won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the cast members to assemble the Seekers and Planners tables.
Fans can look forward to discovering which players will be in which group in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, released on October 24.
